Where can I purchase Discount and Explorer Tickets?

The full range of Discount and Explorer tickets are available from the IOM Welcome Centre at the Sea Terminal in Douglas and at Bus Depots in Ramsey, Port Erin and Peel.

Explorer tickets are also available from Railway Stations in Ramsey, Laxey, Bungalow, Douglas, Ballasalla, Castletown, Port St. Mary and Port Erin.

A selection of Discount tickets are available from, Spar Shops, WH Smiths some Post Offices.

Where can I get a timetable?

Timetables are available free of charge from the IOM Welcome Centre at the Sea Terminal in Douglas, bus and train depots/stations in Douglas, Laxey, Bungalow, Ramsey, Peel, Ballasalla, Castletown, Port St. Mary and Port Erin.

They are also available at various Post Offices, Spar Shops and Libraries.

Who do I contact if I have lost or found something on a bus?

Found items should be handed to the driver.

Lost items should be reported to our staff in the IOM Welcome Centre, Sea Terminal, Douglas, Tel. (01624) 663366.

How do I apply for a concessionary pass?

Invalidity Passes are authorised by the DHSS Social Services Division at Hillary House, Prospect Hill, Douglas and issued at the IOM Welcome Centre, Sea Terminal, Douglas on production of a letter of entitlement from the DHSS. A passport size photograph needs to be supplied.

Over 60's passes are issued at the IOM Welcome Centre, Sea Terminal, Douglas on production of one of the following:

  • Receipt of an IOM retirement pension
  • IOM driving licence
  • IOM issued passport
  • IOM medical registration card
  • A passport size photograph

An admin charge will be applied for the reissue of lost passes

Can I take my bicycle on the railways?

Bicycles can be transported on railways at a charge.

Are dogs allowed to travel on buses and railways?

Dogs are allowed to travel on buses at the discretion of the driver. Under no circumstances are dogs allowed to occupy a seat.

A standard dog fare is applicable for bus travel, dogs travel free on railways.

Are concessionary passes from other countries valid for travel on IOM transport services?

No.

How do I arrange a private hire of a Bus, Train or Tram?

Private hire of bus can be arranged by telephoning Bus Operations on Tel: (01624) 663366, Mon - Fri. 9am - 5pm.

Private hire of train/tram can be arranged by telephoning Rail Operations on Tel: (01624) 697415, Mon - Fri. 9am - 5pm.

Are there discounts for group travel?

Various discounts to single and return rail fares only apply for parties of 20 or more. Bookings must be made through Rail Operations on Tel: (01624) 697415, Mon - Fri. 9am - 5pm.
